Welcome to The Society Hotel Bingen Bar and Cafe, a charming cafe nestled in a beautifully transformed school building on the serene Cedar Street in Cook, WA. This quaint spot offers a perfect blend of delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and local hospitality that leaves a lasting impression.

Step inside and feel immediately enveloped by the cozy ambiance, where vintage decor meets modern flair. The cafe is not just a place to grab a quick bite; it’s a haven for food lovers looking to enjoy a leisurely meal in a gorgeous setting. Customers rave about the delightful breakfast options like the savory Breakfast Sandwich priced at just $12, and the vibrant Avocado Toast for $13, which is a staple for those looking for a wholesome start to their day.

For those who are craving something sweet to accompany their morning coffee, be sure to try the freshly made pastries; in particular, the macaroons have won the hearts of many visitors, with one patron declaring them to be "the best macaroons of my god damn life." The coffee, expertly brewed to avoid bitterness, pairs perfectly with any selection, delivering a robust flavor that could inspire even the most reluctant creator to pick up a pen and give Shakespeare a run for his money.

The cafe offers thoughtful options for both vegetarians and those simply looking to indulge in something comforting. As you lounge at the vintage-inspired tables or find your seat on the spacious outdoor terrace, the inviting smell of freshly brewed coffee and delicious dishes wafts through the air, creating an irresistible draw for both visitors and locals alike.

But don't just take our word for it! Customers like Leah Scafe highlight their experiences: "Stopped in for some beautiful and delicious food on our way from Lyle to Hood River," she shares. Many visitors appreciate the fresh, veggie-forward brunch options, intricate and modern lattes, and even the charming scenery of the surrounding area. The recommendations to sit outside on the picnic tables only add to the allure, capturing the essence of a perfect lazy afternoon.

With its affordable prices and high quality, The Society Hotel Bingen Bar and Cafe stands out as an excellent choice whether you’re a local regular or passing through. As Kyle notes, "Great place to relax after exploring in the Gorge. The cafe has delicious food and coffee, and is not outrageously priced." Quaint cafe and hotel in an old school. The cafe has great vegetarian options and tea as well as coffee. Be aware there are a lot of steps from the parking lot to the cafe.

Best macaroons of my god damn life. Coffee wasn't too bitter and was strong. Strong enough to make me feel like I could rewrite Shakespeare if my hands would stop shaking. Awesome place to hang out, comfy, quality aesthetics. Let's talk about the one point of feedback. Those chandeliers. Not all of them follow the same pattern of light up-light down. It's slightly asymmetrical. If you can unsee this the space is perfect. In future visits I hope the senior management of The Society can address this. Not a big enough issue to subtract a star.

Great place to relax after exploring in the Gorge. The pools are very clean and refreshing, and so are the rooms. I will be back. The cafe has delicious food and coffee, and is not outrageously priced.

The Cafe/Bar is very quaint here. Small dishes of pastries are available and they have beer on tap as well as some wines. They do have a rather large table that can accommodate a big party of 20. Nice little week day getaway to get to the soaking pools.

We stayed at the hotel for a few days, and enjoyed quite a few menu items from this cafe over the time there. The staff was friendly and thorough, the food was delicious and we loved the baked goods. It was really convenient to enjoy this spot right on site.

Stopped by for a coffee and couldn’t resist getting the veggie sandwich… wow was it good. I also had a cappuccino and my wife had a chai, both very good.

Stopped in for some beautiful and delicious food on our way from Lyle to Hood River. It was exactly what I was craving: a fresh, veggie-forward brunch. We had both of the toasts (one with gf bread) and a yummy breakfast salad, matcha tea and their special honey cinnamon latte. We sat outside on picnic tables to enjoy it all. Look forward to returning as hotel guests!
